I'm in the market for a new GPU and I'm torn between the 5070 Ti and the 9070 XT. My goal is to game at 4K or upscale 2K to 4K. There's about a $200 price difference between them. From what I've read, people generally say DLSS adds around $150 in value, but I couldn't find any discussions specifically focusing on how it impacts gaming at 4K. Any insights?

Honestly, I’m more impressed with the Multi Frame Generation (MFG) technology rather than DLSS 4, which is exclusive to the 50 series. I saw a jump from 90 fps to 155 fps playing the new Mafia game with MFG, and it felt smooth with very little input lag.
I’d say DLSS is worth about an extra $50 over FSR. If both cards perform similarly, I'll always go with NVIDIA if the price difference is around that amount. But $200 is a bit much for me.

That 90 to 155 fps jump is amazing! Just to clarify, MFG isn't exclusive to the 50 series; the 40 series cards can do it too. I use it frequently in games that aren’t super fast-paced, and I’m always impressed by the outcomes, though I sometimes notice minor artifacting in menus.
