I'm considering whether to go for 32 GB of 5600 MT/s, CL36 in a single channel setup, or 2x16 GB of the same speed in a dual channel configuration. Both options are priced similarly, and I don't plan on upgrading to 64 GB in the future. Which option would provide better performance?

I agree, a dual channel setup will more than make up for the Cl40 compared to Cl36 in single channel. It's a solid choice!
