Is Fedora KDE a Good Choice for Linux Newbies?

Hey there! I'm fed up with Windows and its annoying pop-ups, especially OneDrive. I'm seriously considering switching to Linux, and Fedora looks appealing to me because it's backed by RedHat, has a big community, and supports KDE Plasma, which I really like. Since I need my laptop for schoolwork, I'm looking for opinions on how stable Fedora is as a distro. Any tips or experiences from folks using Fedora for school? What should I know before making the switch?

Fedora is a solid choice, especially for someone just starting. I've recommended it to newcomers, and they have had good experiences with it. Just remember, keep it updated regularly for the best stability.

Yes, Fedora is a good option too! You'll be able to find a lot of the software you need, and it has comprehensive community support. Just dive in and enjoy the journey!

If you're looking for something super user-friendly, I’d suggest trying Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop first. It’s often seen as more noob-friendly, and once you’re comfortable, switching to Fedora later could be easier.

I totally hear you! I switched to Linux because of similar frustrations with Windows. The constant OneDrive reminders had me pulling my hair out. Fedora is a decent choice, especially if you like KDE. It's stable enough for schoolwork and pretty user-friendly, but be aware that school Wi-Fi can sometimes be tricky to connect to. If your school uses eduroam or has specific login requirements, you might need extra help to get that set up.

Honestly, I daily drive Fedora KDE on my gaming rig and even on an older laptop, and it works pretty seamlessly on both. I believe it's a great distro to start with. Just give it a try—I think you’ll enjoy the experience!
