Is it a good idea to install Windows on my SSD along with my games, and what should I do with my HDD?

I'm currently running Windows on an HDD while using my 1TB SSD for video games. I've heard that having the OS on an SSD really boosts performance, so I'm planning to reinstall Windows on the SSD. Is it a good idea to keep both my OS and games on the SSD? If that's fine, what can I do with my HDD? I'm not super tech-savvy, so I'd appreciate any advice!

Installing the OS on your SSD is definitely a smart move! Having both Windows and games on the same SSD is fine; it won’t impact performance negatively. You can use your HDD for cold storage—think photos, videos, and documents that you don’t need to access often. They're great for keeping larger files without cluttering your SSD.

Thanks for the suggestion! I save a ton of clips while gaming, so putting those on the HDD sounds like a solid plan to keep my SSD from filling up.

Absolutely, go for the SSD for both your OS and games! Just make sure to format the SSD before installing Windows, so it’s empty. For your HDD, it's perfect for general storage—keep your photos, old videos, and maybe some less frequently played games there. Just know that some new games can be slow on HDDs, but older ones should play just fine.

Wait, so it should be totally clear before I put Windows on the SSD? That's good to know!
