I'm considering using a single 4TB 990 PRO NVME drive for my PC. Is it practical to keep Windows, all my games, and everything else on just this one drive?

Yes, it's totally fine to go with one big NVME drive. You don't need to create separate partitions unless you plan to reinstall Windows frequently. Just keep everything on one partition, so you don't have to deal with space management issues later on.
It's fine to stick with one drive, but don't forget to regularly back up your data. Having two drives can offer better security, but one is okay as long as you're diligent about backups.
But with two drives, you double the chances of failure, you know?
While a single drive is fine, I personally prefer having a dedicated OS drive and a second one for storage. It helps keep things organized. I manage my main OS for games and programs, and I usually transfer older files to a second drive for long-term storage. Just a little added peace of mind!
This! I have a similar setup where I keep my OS and important docs on an SSD and use a bigger NVME for games. Extra HDDs for movies and shows make it all easy to manage.
Performance-wise, a single NVME drive handles everything just fine. But if you create content (like documents, images, videos), you might want to partition it for better management. Just remember that modern SSDs are way faster than old hard drives, so you won’t notice any real delay jumping around files.

I almost made the same mistake of separating my system and games, but then realized it was too much hassle for no good reason.
