I'm looking to build a gaming and development PC this year, but I'm worried about the high cost of RAM right now. Here's what I've planned so far: a B650M AORUS ELITE AX motherboard with an AMD 9700X CPU, Crucial 32GB DDR5 RAM, a thermalright 850W PSU, a thermalright cooler, an XFX AMD RX6750GRE GPU, and a case. Overall, prices seem quite a bit higher compared to early last year. Do you think prices might go down later on, or is it better to just move ahead with the build now? Any alternatives or suggestions would also be appreciated!

Prices really aren't going to drop this year. If you're okay with possibly waiting 2-3 years for better pricing, that might work. But definitely consider that even if demand lessens, companies aren't likely to cut prices drastically anytime soon.
Honestly, most people who waited to build over the last several years ended up facing higher prices. Given all the demand, especially with AI needing loads of RAM, I’d just go for it and build now. Waiting could lead to even higher expenses down the line!
It's definitely an expensive time right now! I remember getting 32GB of DDR4 for like $90, and now the same kit is going for over $250. You're not just dealing with DDR5 prices; DDR4 is up too!
Honestly, I'd say now's not the best time to build. With RAM, GPUs, and SSDs priced so high right now, it might be wise to hold off a bit. Unfortunately, I think prices could get even worse in the short term.
In my opinion, now is the right time to build! RAM and GPU prices are only expected to climb, so building now could save you money in the long run.
