Is It Normal for My 12VHPWR Cable to Have Exposed Copper?

I recently noticed that my 12VHPWR cable has some copper exposed. I'm wondering if this is something that's normally seen or if it indicates a defect. I need this cable for my RTX 5080, so I'm really concerned about whether it's safe to use. Here's a link to the image: https://imgur.com/a/yzmj641. What do you all think?

Wow, I can’t believe how exposed that is. You made the right call to check; it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Definitely don’t plug it in! That looks pretty risky. I’d suggest getting it replaced right away to avoid any damage to your GPU.

With the RTX 5080 priced higher than my first car, I’d say don’t take the chance. Those 12VHPWR connectors can be dodgy even if they look fine, so best to return it.

Yikes, that looks really bad. You should get that sorted out quickly to avoid any potential disasters.

No, that's definitely not normal. You should stop using it immediately and ask for a replacement. That could fry your card!
