Hey folks! I've got an Acer Nitro 16 (model AN16-41) with Ryzen 7 7840HS and RTX 4060, and I'm really worried about a thermal issue. Whenever I start any game, even ones that aren't demanding, my CPU temperature jumps from around 50°C to between 95°C and 100°C almost instantly!
Here's what I'm seeing:
- **Idle Temps:** Generally sit around 45-55°C.
- **Temperature Spike:** As soon as the game loads, NitroSense immediately shows temps over 95°C.
- **Fan Speed:** The fans are going at about 4800-5000 RPM, but the temperature stays stuck at this high mark.
- **Background Usage:** UserBenchmark indicates about 19% CPU usage when I'm not really doing anything.
- **GPU Usage:** The GPU often hits 99% usage and reaches 92°C quickly.
I'm wondering if the issue could be due to the factory Liquid Metal application—I've heard some units have 'dry spots' or uneven spread. Also, I switched from liquid metal to thermal paste and cleaned everything out less than three months ago. Should I consider reapplying thermal paste, or is it worth sending it back under warranty? Thanks!

It sounds like your laptop could be getting a bit overwhelmed by the games. While there are powerful gaming laptops out there, they do tend to run hotter than desktops. Just make sure yours meets the minimum requirements for the games you’re playing.
I’d say to steer clear of UserBenchmark for this kind of stuff. It’s known to be unreliable when diagnosing issues or comparing specs. Check out some reviews explaining why it's on the blacklist; you might find it helpful!

Yeah, I get that. But isn't the Nitro series meant to handle gaming? It feels like it shouldn't be running this hot, especially at those specs.
