I recently built a new PC, and I'm a bit concerned that the temperatures are too low. Even when I'm playing heavy graphics games, it seems like it doesn't warm up much. My smart fans are configured to kick in only when the temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, but my CPU usually hovers around 25 degrees. Is this safe for my PC? Any advice on how I can increase the temperature? Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD 7800x3d
- GPU: RTX 4080
- Motherboard: Mag B650 Tomahawk
- Cooler: NZXT Kraken Elite 360

Generally speaking, low temperatures aren't an issue unless they're below freezing. Your CPU should typically run warmer, especially during gaming, so it's kind of surprising that it only reaches about 40C. You might not be getting full performance from your 7800X3D.
Are you talking about your GPU or your CPU temps? Because there was a bug recently with Nvidia driver updates that affected temperature readings after the system wakes up from sleep. Just double-checking!
It's for the CPU, sorry for the mix-up!
If your system is cool due to a power limit setting, you might be missing out on some potential performance. But if you haven't set any power limits, it sounds like everything is running fine!
I haven’t set any limits for now, so that's good to hear!
You're right to keep an eye on it! While 25C is relatively safe, make sure your CPU doesn’t exceed 85C for too long. If it runs too hot, it can throttle performance to protect itself. Don’t stress too much about temporary spikes, though—just keep it cool!
I’m worried because my fans never go on since it stays so low. Should I be concerned about that?
