Is it okay to use AI for learning programming concepts?

After watching over ten tutorials, I've decided to tackle my first project. However, I'm worried that I might encounter challenges that could leave me stumped due to unfamiliar syntax or concepts. I'm torn between asking AI for guidance on which concepts I should focus on or sticking to the traditional method of researching on Google or forums. I feel like using AI might hinder my learning process. For clarity, I'm not looking for the exact code to fix my project; I'm just seeking advice on the best approach.

It's totally okay to ask AI some questions, especially if you're pointing it to reliable sources. But remember, it's your responsibility to decide what to do with the information you get.

I get where you're coming from! Think of asking AI like using a Swiss Army knife for Google searches—it's easy, but you have to be careful about what info you take from it. I prefer going back to basics and checking out what real people say instead of relying solely on AI. So, I'd say ask AI about the 'what,' but do your homework on the 'why' by learning from actual people.

AI might help spark ideas, but it essentially just creates text based on what it's seen. If you get a suggestion that doesn't make sense or falls apart later, you won't have gained any real knowledge. Getting stuck is part of the fun and growth in programming!

While it's tempting to use AI, the real learning happens when you struggle, experiment, and figure things out on your own. If you skip that process, you might miss out on understanding whether the solutions you get are actually correct.
