I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600, which handles most of my games pretty well, but I'm struggling with Tarkov and Battlefield. Upgrading to an AM5 setup would cost around €700, which is not feasible for me right now. I found a Ryzen 7 5700X3D for €275 on eBay, but it's listed as new and shipping from China. Is it safe to purchase a CPU from there, and can I trust that it's actually new?

From what I've seen, it's better to skip that overpriced deal. Instead, consider getting a Ryzen 5 5600; it's a great budget option that will give you a solid performance boost without breaking the bank.
Plus, I've seen the 5600 going for as low as €180 recently!
I've had good experiences buying CPUs from AliExpress, usually much cheaper. I got a 9800X3D shipped from a local warehouse and it worked perfectly. Just make sure the seller has good reviews. eBay is a bit riskier; I can't really vouch for it since I don't buy there often.
Honestly, these X3D models are way overpriced everywhere right now. Make sure you consider alternatives. A year ago, you could find the 5700X3D for much less, like around €120.
Same, I remember getting mine for just €130 a few months back.
If money's tight, why not sell your current setup? You could possibly upgrade to a 7500F, which can be found for a price close to that 5700X3D and offer similar performance, keeping your upgrade path open.
Good point! I’ve been considering this for my upgrade too.
A lot of users have successfully bought AMD CPUs from AliExpress without any issues, including the 5700X3D. Just check that the seller has a solid reputation. But honestly, those prices lately are pretty steep—maybe wait a bit and save up for a better deal.
Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on AliExpress for any drops in price.

Totally agree! The 5600 can last you a few years if you're not pushing for extreme performance.
