Is It Safe to Buy an iPad That Can’t Be Reset?

Hey everyone! I found a listing for an iPad Pro (3rd gen) on the local Facebook Marketplace, and there's a bit of a catch. The seller mentioned, "I'm unable to reset it, not sure why, but there is no Find My iPhone turned on, so it won't be iCloud locked." The seller seems legit since they have previous listings and they're local. It feels like a great deal, so I'm wondering if I can reset it safely and use it without issues. What further questions should I ask before deciding? I'll be picking it up in person. Thanks!

Why even consider it? Just pass on it. Sometimes a deal that seems too good to be true really is just that.

Honestly, I'd skip this one. Unless it's priced super low, like $20 just for a paperweight. There could be hidden locks on it, like company restrictions or it being reported lost.

It definitely has scam vibes. You might think it’s a great deal, but I'd recommend asking for the serial number and checking it on Apple's coverage site. If they hesitate to give that, you should run!
