I'm wondering if it's worth investing in an OLED screen if I plan to use it for 8 to 12 hours or more each day. I'm concerned about the potential for burn-in becoming a serious issue with constant use. What do you think?

Technology has really evolved, and while the risk of burn-in is low, it's important to remember that it can still happen. Personally, I decided against getting an OLED because I frequently watch the same content for long stretches, and that felt too risky for me.
If you stick to using safety features on the OLED and run a pixel refresh every few hours, you should be fine. Just don't forget to do that after your long sessions!
I've been using an OLED for about 15 months with heavy daily use, and so far, I haven't noticed any burn-in. But, I do wonder how long it will last, especially since the warranty covers burn-in for three years.
I faced a similar choice, and the possibility of burn-in from static elements like a clock or web browser kept me from going for OLED. It's not as common as it used to be, but for my work setup, I opted for an IPS display instead.
Burn-in shouldn't be a big problem unless you leave the screen on one static image for too long. Today's OLED screens come with features that help prevent this issue, so it's not as concerning as it was in the past.
