I have a question about formatting USB flash drives. If I lock my computer using the Windows key + L during the formatting process, will it interfere with the task? I just want to make sure everything goes smoothly. Thanks for your help!

Nope, all tasks will keep running even after you lock the screen. So, if you're just locking it temporarily, your formatting should continue without issues.

It generally depends on how long the formatting takes and your power settings. Locking the screen won’t affect the formatting, but if your computer is set to go to sleep after a certain time of inactivity, that could pause the process. Just check your power settings to avoid any hiccups!

Locking your computer won’t interrupt the formatting process. Just keep in mind that a full format on flash memory drives might not be necessary. A quick format usually suffices and can save wear on the drive over time. If you need to securely erase data, consider encrypting the drive, losing the key, and then doing a quick format instead. But if you’ve already initiated a full format, don’t worry too much; just try not to make it a habit.
