Is Upgrading to an RTX 5080 Worth It for My Current Build?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU to an RTX 5080 and wanted to get some feedback on whether I need to make any additional changes to my setup. Here are my current specs: I'm running an Intel Core i9-12900K, ASUS Z690-A motherboard, 32GB of G.Skill DDR4 RAM, a 1200W EVGA SuperNOVA power supply, an RTX 3080 Ti, and a couple of 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSDs. I've got a pretty spacious case and a solid CPU cooler as well. Would I run into any compatibility issues or need to swap out anything else in my build for the new GPU? Thanks in advance!

Based on your specs, you should be all set for the RTX 5080. Just make sure you use the adapter that typically comes with the GPU for the 12VHPWR connector. Also, if you're concerned about budget, you might want to look into the 5070 Ti, which can be found for around $750. It performs well and might be a better bang for your buck in many situations.

Hey, could you recommend a specific adapter? I'm not sure which one to look for!

You'll need to use the triple 8-pin to 16-pin adapter that usually comes with the RTX 5080. If it doesn't come with it, look for a high-quality 12VHPWR cable compatible with your EVGA SuperNOVA P2 to keep everything neat. Just be prepared to manage that new 16-pin power cable and make sure your airflow in the case remains optimal!
