Is it safe to open an NSP file after downloading from a random source?

I downloaded a zip file from a YouTuber's Google Drive that I wasn't very familiar with. After extracting it, I got an NSP file, which is what I was looking for. However, I have a few concerns: Can unzipping a file potentially activate malware? Also, since no additional files appeared during the extraction, is there any risk of a virus when I open the NSP file?

Unzipping a file can potentially unleash malware if the original zip file contained harmful software. It mainly depends on the source of the file. As for your NSP file, if you didn't notice any unusual files popping up during extraction, that’s a good sign. But remember, there’s always some risk when downloading files from unknown sources. Make sure to scan it with antivirus software before opening!

Yeah, it's always better to be safe! Running an antivirus scan can help a lot.
