I recently received a job offer for a Frontend Developer position at a new company, and I'm really excited about it. The start date is June 9th, and I've already signed the offer letter, which they have sent back signed as well. I completed the background check and payroll processes, and now I'm just waiting for my laptop to arrive. I'm planning to quit my current job tomorrow so I can take a break and spend some time with my girlfriend. Given all that, is it safe for me to resign from my current role?

Looks like you've done everything right! You signed the offer, they’ve got your equipment on the way—they definitely want you! The only concern would be if there were issues with your background check, so if that’s all clear, you should be fine.
Just to be safe, maybe keep both jobs for a little while, unless you absolutely have to decide. That way you have some security in case anything changes last minute.
You’re pretty much safe to quit! In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, you might have some legal grounds to take action since you’ve already signed the offer and have a start date. That said, these situations are rare. Most likely, you’re good to go!
Totally agree! I think people often focus on the few horror stories out there. With the commitment you’ve already seen from the new employer, you should feel confident.
