Is it safe to remove an SD card from a non-functional phone?

I'm dealing with an old LG K10 that won't fully boot up—it gets stuck on the power screen. The SD card inside contains some important photos that I really need to recover. Since I can't properly turn on the phone to unmount the card, can I just safely take it out without causing any damage? I'm worried about corrupting the files or losing them entirely. What are the risks involved?

What else are you supposed to do? If the phone can't boot, you have to get the card out somehow!

You can definitely remove the SD card without too much worry. It's not like a hard drive where unmounting is crucial. Just pull it out, and you should be fine!

Yeah, removing it should be perfectly safe. If you're stuck with that old phone, there's really no other option, right? Just make sure you're careful when taking it out.
