Hey everyone! I own an Asus TUF F15 with an i5 10300H and GTX 1650, but my battery recently died. I found a replacement that has lower mAh and Wh ratings than the original Asus one. Here's the breakdown:
- Original battery: 48Wh, 4212mAh, 11.4V
- New battery: 44Wh, 3900mAh, 11.4V (not from Asus)
I have two questions:
1. Is it okay to use this third-party battery since they're offering a one-year warranty?
2. Could it lead to any issues with my motherboard since it's not an official part?

Honestly, I think it may not work out well. Just a hunch, but I wouldn’t risk it. Using a battery that’s not from Asus could lead to unexpected problems.
You’ll definitely get less battery life since it has lower capacity, but the voltage being the same means it should still work. Be cautious, especially if your laptop is still under warranty; using non-original parts can void it, and any damage from them won't be covered either.
Got it, thanks for clarifying!
Using a third-party battery can work as long as the voltage matches. Just keep in mind that some third-party batteries can vary greatly in quality. Ensure the ratings are trustworthy. And about that warranty, a year from a reputable company beats a five-year warranty from a random brand. A low-quality battery might just die early, but worse ones can puff up and pose fire risks.
How can I tell if the brand is reliable or not?

Can you elaborate on why you think that?
