I recently built a new PC with an RTX 5070 Ti, but after a few hours of gaming, my screen went black, and I lost all display. After trying to restart it, the GPU fans weren't spinning, and nothing worked when using the 12VHPWR cable. I checked all the connections, and the cable seemed fine, without any visible damage.
Out of frustration, I used the adapter that came with the GPU, connecting it to two separate 8-pin PCIe cables from my power supply. This worked, and I've been gaming without issues for a couple of days now. Given the concerns surrounding 12VHPWR cables, should I replace it and use it again, or can I safely stick to the dual 8-pin setup for the long run? Is there any risk of running my 5070 Ti this way? Has anyone faced something similar?

If you can, definitely replace the 12VHPWR cable. It's better to be safe, especially since it failed on you so soon. The adapter you’re using isn’t harmful as long as you're using separate PCIe cables like you mentioned, so you're probably okay for now. But still, a solid cable is key for reliability.
Was the 12VHPWR cable part of your power supply or a separate purchase? If it was new and included, I suggest returning it and getting a replacement. The dual adapter setup may look a bit messy, but as long as your cables are separate, it should be fine for use. Just monitor your system to make sure everything remains stable!

Yeah, it came with the power supply. As long as it works, the appearance doesn't matter too much, right?
