Is it Time for a New Operating System?

I recently deleted some duplicate files from my SSD to free up space, but now I'm encountering a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) error with the code 0xs000001. I've tried just about everything, including tweaking settings in the BIOS and using a Windows installer on a flash drive to fix the issue. I'm starting to think that maybe I should just consider getting a new operating system altogether, like a cleaner version of Windows 11. I'm feeling a bit desperate and I'm also short on cash, so I'd appreciate any advice!

It sounds like you might need to reinstall your OS. Just remember, messing with system files can be risky. If you have an installer USB, you can prepare it using another computer. When reinstalling, you have the option to keep your files if you want to save anything important. Don't forget to enable secure boot in BIOS during the process! After that, you can use debloating scripts to clean things up, but those pre-decorated versions can sometimes cause issues.

Absolutely! Deleting system files is always a gamble. Just be careful next time!

How big is your SSD? Windows 10 can run pretty well even on a 128GB SSD, especially if you have an additional HDD for larger programs and files. Just make sure you're managing space effectively!

Last time I checked, I had over 90GB left free—should be enough for Windows. Thanks for the advice!

If you can get into Windows—either normally or through Safe Mode—try to look for crash logs. These logs are saved in C:WindowsMinidump. Collect any dump files you find and zip them up. Once zipped, you can upload them to a file sharing site. We need those files to help diagnose your BSoD issue effectively. Also, consider changing your dump type to Small Memory Dump for future errors.
