Is it time to fully upgrade my PC or should I stick with AM4 and DDR4?

Hey everyone! So, I recently encountered an issue where my PC just wouldn't turn on, and after some troubleshooting, it looks like I had to upgrade my motherboard (mobo) and CPU since my old setup was too outdated for the new CPU I purchased. I ended up getting an AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT with an MSI MAG B550 motherboard, along with DDR4 RAM I got on discount. Initially, I thought about just replacing what was broken, but now I'm wondering if I should go for a full upgrade to DDR5 and an AM5 setup for future-proofing. However, I just bought a house, so my budget is pretty tight. I have about two weeks to return my new parts if I decide to upgrade further. What's your advice? Should I stick with what I have or make the leap to the newer tech?

I think you should consider returning your current setup and go for a DDR5-compatible combo instead. There are some great motherboards that come with bundled DDR5 RAM, and they’re not too much more expensive. It might cost a little bit more upfront, but could save you from needing yet another upgrade down the line.

That's actually a pretty solid idea! Getting better tech for a bit more makes sense, especially since I'm already in upgrade mode.
