I have an MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 that I bought on release day and I've been really happy with it. However, 5 years later, I'm noticing that games are getting more demanding. I mostly play Monster Hunter World and I'm fine with lowering graphics settings for better FPS. My girlfriend has an older graphics card, probably a 1060 or 1070, and she's struggling to play, so I was thinking about upgrading my card to something newer and giving her my 3080. But with current prices being so high, I'm not sure if it's worth it right now. If it is, what's the best option for a solid upgrade? I'm considering something like a 5070 Ti or maybe a 5080, but a 5090 feels like overkill. Any advice would be great!

Nah, just stick with what you have for now.
The 5070 Ti or 9070 XT would be your best bets right now. They offer about 45% more performance compared to your 3080, and given the current prices, they strike a decent balance between cost and power.
Have you considered going with AMD? If you don't specifically need NVIDIA for DLSS or CUDA, a Radeon card could be a great value. I got my 7900 XT for about $850 and it's been awesome. You might want to check it out for better price-to-performance.
I'm definitely open to anything that gives me more bang for my buck!
Thank you! That sounds promising!
