I'm considering upgrading my PC, specifically swapping out my Ryzen 7 5700X for a new Ryzen 7 7700X, as recommended by a friend. However, according to User Benchmark, the performance increase would only be about 17%. Since I'm also looking at a new motherboard and RAM, I'm unsure if this upgrade is worth it. Any insights would be appreciated!

If you're just gaming, the increase could be as minimal as 1-4 FPS. Think about whether that slight bump is worth the cost and effort for you. If you can get a good price reselling your old one, then maybe it's a consideration!
User Benchmark isn't the best metric to rely on for performance. What do you mainly use your PC for? If gaming is your focus, consider what kind of improvements you want to see. It might be more beneficial to wait if your current setup works fine for you.
Honestly, if you're doing a complete overhaul, look at the 7800X3D instead. It’s a much more impressive CPU for gaming in the 7000 series.
A 17% boost isn’t likely to change your gaming experience drastically. If you’re not feeling performance issues with your 5700X, it might be better to save your money for a bigger upgrade in the future. It really depends on how much you want those extra frames!

I mostly game, but also use my PC for schoolwork. I'm hoping that upgrading now will save me the hassle later, especially since I'm still on AM4.
