Hey everyone! I'm a newcomer to the forum and I'm planning to install Linux soon—probably Mint unless you all have recommendations for better options. I used to tinker with Linux over ten years ago but found it tough, mostly because I've been a Windows user my whole life.
To kick things off, could anyone point me to a reliable source to download a Linux installer?
Also, I'd love a detailed installation guide that breaks things down—I don't want to miss any steps.
I believe I can burn a Linux ISO to a USB drive using something like Rufus, like I did with Windows installs in the past.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I totally understand where you’re coming from! Things have really improved in Linux. If you’re diving into Mint, it’s a good choice. Just remember, if you have questions during the install, the community is super helpful. Don’t hesitate to ask!
Definitely visit linuxmint.com! You'll find the ISO there along with a complete installation guide. They cover everything from flashing the ISO to following the installation wizard once you boot from the USB. If you hit any snags, feel free to ask for help here!
If you're looking for a user-friendly option, I suggest checking out the official Linux Mint website for the latest ISO. Installing Linux is way easier now compared to back in the day. You can get the Mint installer [here](https://linuxmint.com/download.php). Just burn the ISO to a USB drive like you’ve done for Windows. The installer is straightforward and should guide you through the process. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip! I might even try dual-booting on one of my other machines.

Thanks! I really appreciate the support. I'm looking forward to giving it a real shot this time.
