I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to ensure I can keep playing games at 1440p with over 60 fps while maxing out the details in the coming years. Right now, I've got an Intel Core i5-11400F installed on an MSI Mag B560M Bazooka motherboard, with 32GB of DDR4 RAM (4x8GB) at 3200MHz, and my graphics card is an ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Phantom Gaming OC with 16GB VRAM. With RAM prices on the rise, I'm considering this upgrade sooner rather than later.
Do you think I should go for the i5-14600KF or the i7-14700F now, or should I wait for an affordable AM5 DDR5 platform with X3D tech? Or is there another option you'd recommend?

Honestly, it sounds like you're more worried about keeping up with the latest tech rather than really needing the upgrade right now. At 1440p, your games are likely more dependent on the GPU. So, I'd suggest focusing on that if you're looking for a significant upgrade.
From what I've seen with my i5-11400, it handles 60+ fps in pretty much every game without issues. The real bottleneck at higher resolutions like 1440p is usually the GPU, not the CPU. Since you have the RX 6800 XT, you might be good for a while. But hey, if you want to future-proof, maybe check your usage data first and see on what games you really feel the constraints.
I know what you mean; I've had some stutters on demand. But it might be a good idea to check that the performance dips you’re seeing are actually tied to the CPU.
If you're considering upgrades, I'd focus on your GPU first. What kind of cards do you have in mind? And just a heads up, as long as your CPU isn't ancient, it won't bottleneck too soon, especially with newer titles.

Exactly! I thought about CPU upgrades, but my GPU was the real issue in frames. Better to wait and see if you need that new CPU later!
