Hey everyone! I'm considering my next PC upgrade and I've heard some mixed opinions about my current CPU. My friends say it's not performing well and I'm experiencing some frustrating FPS drops while playing WoW and Darktide. Here are my specs:

- CPU: Intel i5-9400 @ 2.90GHz (6 cores)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
- SSD: SanDisk SDSSDA960G
- RAM: 32GB
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK PRIME H310M-K

Do you think upgrading the CPU is the right move, or should I look at something else?

It might be time for a full system revamp! WoW is known to be tough on CPUs, so if that's your main game, consider something like the 7800X3D or 9800X3D, paired with a newer GPU if your budget allows.

Absolutely! The i5-9400 is aging, especially for demanding titles. You might want to think about a full upgrade, but if you're on a budget, just upgrading the CPU first could help. Your H310 motherboard does limit your options, though, so keep that in mind.

Make sure to check how your CPU and GPU are performing while you're gaming! It's crucial to know where the bottleneck is before upgrading.

I’d focus on upgrading your GPU instead. It might give you a bigger boost in performance than the CPU right now.

Honestly, both your CPU and GPU are due for an upgrade. Your i5-9400 is getting pretty old, especially for CPU-heavy games like Darktide.
