Is It Time to Upgrade My Graphics Card?

Hey everyone! I wanted to get your thoughts on my current PC setup and whether it's worth upgrading my graphics card. I'm currently using a 3070 TI and I'm considering either the 4000 series or possibly a Ryzen option, maybe even the 5000 series. I play VR games like Ghost of Tabor and Contractors Exfil, as well as shooters like Warzone and some single-player titles such as Spider-Man and CyberPunk. While I'm able to play these games reasonably well, I'm hoping to improve my FPS and graphics quality without going over the top. I've got a PCPartPicker list ready for compatibility checks with potential new parts. Would love to hear your recommendations! Thanks a bunch! 🙂

If I were you, I’d steer clear of Intel and go with an AM5 card like the 9700X. It’s usually cheaper and offers better performance compared to the 11900K. Plus, it opens you up to DDR5 memory which can really boost performance. I also suggest looking at a 5070 TI or 4070 TI Super for your upgrade—they deliver a noticeable power boost, especially for VR gaming. Just make sure you're not actually planning on running two GPUs; that's likely a mistake in your build.

Oh! And don't forget about storage. Instead of a hard drive, get a fast 1TB boot drive like the SN850X and maybe a 2TB game drive too—those are fantastic!

So are you saying I should swap my current Intel processor for an AM5? I'm just looking to upgrade my GPU, not replace the whole setup. Just want to clarify if I need a new processor to get better performance with the GPU!
