Is it Wise to Buy a Pre-Built Gaming PC Right Now?

I've been wanting to build my own gaming PC for a while, but I've had to put it off due to college and other life expenses. Now, I finally have around $1,500 that I can spend on a PC. However, I've heard that RAM prices are going up. Should I just buy a pre-built PC for the time being?

For sure, go for a pre-built! They’re basically plug-and-play. Just download Steam and you’re all set! I got my first pre-built over ten years ago, and even after replacing almost everything, I still use the original case and fans—they’ve held up great!

I’ll keep an eye out then! Honestly, I won't need a super powerful rig. As long as it can handle Fallout 4, I’ll be happy!

Sure, some folks might argue against pre-builts, but honestly, they can be a great option. Gaming PCs can get pricey even on a budget, so a pre-built might save you a lot in the long run.

What do you consider a good price for a pre-built gaming PC?

Answered By TechSavvyDude On

Absolutely! I'd say go for a pre-built, especially since prices might climb even more soon. It's quick, hassle-free, and saves you time. If you’re not super keen on building and dealing with potential issues, pre-builts can be a smart choice. You're guaranteed everything will work smoothly together, without the stress of tinkering with new parts. But if you enjoy building your own systems, that’s a different ball game!

If you bought one, how much did it cost? What's a good price for a decent pre-built?

Given the current RAM situation, pre-builts are offering great value right now. If you have a Microcenter or Costco nearby, check them out; I've seen some pretty solid pre-builds there.
