Is it worth buying a cracked iPad 12.9 for $60?

I found someone selling a cracked iPad 12.9 for just $60, which seems like a steal! I've been wanting to buy one of these for a while, and I thought this could be a great chance to save some money. I could potentially repair it myself or pay for a professional repair, and still come out ahead compared to retail prices. However, I'm a bit worried that if it's priced so low, it might be more trouble than it's worth. I'm looking for advice on whether it's a smart move to buy this, especially considering how hard it might be to fix Apple products.

I’d be cautious since such a low price could mean it's activation locked, especially with a cracked screen that can't be tested. If you can’t unlock it, you won’t be able to use it at all!

It powers on, and the cracks are minor—about 10-15% of the screen. There's also some battery issue. But can you explain more about the activation lock? What would that stop me from doing?

Honestly, if you have to ask, it might be better to steer clear. Check out the repair process on iFixit first to see if you’re comfortable doing it yourself. Repairing Apple devices can be tricky!

I only ask because I’ve heard that even Apple tends to just replace and refurbish instead of actually repairing them. But I’ll definitely check it out!
