With the ongoing price craziness in RAM, I came across a deal for 32GB of RAM at $198.15, but it's naked—no heat spreaders. Is it okay to go for it, or should I be concerned about performance?

If you're not planning to push your RAM to its limits with heavy overclocking, then going with naked RAM is absolutely fine. Just keep in mind that it might have slightly lower speeds and higher latency.
Heat spreaders are mostly for show. They mainly serve an aesthetic purpose and are not really necessary for performance. Unless you’re diving into extreme overclocking, you shouldn’t have any issues with naked RAM sticks.
Honestly, I think the whole heat spreader thing is overhyped. I bought 64GB of Lexar DDR4 RAM without heat spreaders for $100, and it works just fine. Sure, it might not look as cool as RGB sticks, but the price was unbeatable!
