Is it worth getting a CPU with an integrated GPU if I already have a dedicated one?

I'm considering whether to go for a CPU with integrated graphics (iGPU) since I already have a spare dedicated GPU for my setup. I'm aware that having an iGPU can be handy in case the dedicated one fails, but I'm curious if paying an extra £27 for a CPU with an iGPU is really worth it, especially since I'm already spending around £450-£500 on other PC components.

From my experience, having an iGPU made my build and testing much smoother. It would allow you to power everything up without the dedicated GPU, which is a nice convenience while setting up. It might not be necessary, but for an extra £27, that ease of use could be worth it!

That's good to know! My current setup has an iGPU and luckily I've never had to rely on it, but the convenience factor does sound appealing.

Honestly, I think it depends on what CPUs you're looking at. If you're considering something like an Intel i7-12700KF, that doesn't even have an iGPU. Just remember, having a spare GPU can be enough if your current one unexpectedly fails. But do weigh the options carefully!
