I'm on the hunt for a solid platform to learn web development and I want to stick with just one site. There are so many available options, but I'm curious if anyone has recommendations for a particular course or website that's worth the investment.

The Odin Project is a great choice! Plus, it's free for life. Just keep your motivation up and push through the self-learning process. It'll pay off!

True! Having that determination now will help you a lot when seeking a web dev job in the future.

In my opinion, the only thing really worth paying for is an accredited degree in computer science. A college degree can still be a valuable asset. Honestly, there are so many free resources available that paying for beginner courses doesn't really make sense, as they're not going to make you more employable than the free ones.

You might also want to check out The Odin Project or Fullstack Open. Both are fantastic and completely free! Oh, and definitely brush up on your research skills; this topic has been discussed quite a bit!

I loved using FreeCodeCamp when I started! They have excellent courses and also help you build a portfolio, which is super important.

Definitely with you on that. A degree can be a fast track to a decent salary, but it's all about how you go about learning. It could take years of self-driven learning versus a structured 4-year program.
