I'm switching from an Intel system to an AMD setup because my i7 14700k has started to fail, which seems to be a common issue with Raptor Lake chips. Now, I've got this leftover CPU that feels more like a paperweight. Can I RMA it and sell whatever replacement I get to recoup some of my costs? Are people still interested in buying Raptor Lake processors, or would it be a waste of time?

You should definitely consider RMAing it. Just make sure to update your BIOS and set a voltage limit to prevent further degradation. You might be able to use it for a long time in a secondary role afterwards!
Honestly, I'd be hesitant to buy another one from Intel given the issues. If you're not comfortable selling it, maybe consider turning it into something fun like a keychain. At least that way, you wouldn't feel bad selling a potentially faulty chip!
Definitely go for the RMA! Once you get your new chip back, you can either keep it for a backup or sell it as an unused item. If they send a brand new one, even better! There are still folks looking for these CPUs, so you might find a buyer.
It's risky to sell a used 13th or 14th gen CPU because people are wary of degradation issues. If Intel sends you a replacement, you might want to keep it for yourself. But if it comes back sealed as new, that could be a good chance to sell it.
Good point! Selling it new would definitely attract more buyers.

That sounds promising! Every little bit back helps with the new build.
