I'm currently gaming with a 9070xt and have a 12700k processor. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to a 14700k or a 14900k, or if I should just hold off until the next generation of CPUs comes out, which would also require me to upgrade my motherboard. What do you think?

If your 12700k is working fine, I wouldn't rush to upgrade. There's not much performance gain for most users unless you're experiencing issues. If it breaks or you notice it slowing down, then it makes sense to think about an upgrade or hold out for the next gen.
But what about games that really depend on the CPU for high FPS, like CS2 or Valorant? Wouldn't it be worth upgrading in that case?
