Hey everyone, I've been running a 5700x3D with an ASUS TUF 3080 12GB for my 1440p/144Hz gaming setup. I'm considering upgrading to a 5070 Ti, but before I make the jump, I'd love to hear from anyone who has a similar setup or who has made this switch. My main games are single-player titles like JRPGs, but I also enjoy some multiplayer games occasionally, like Marvel Rivals, Street Fighter 6, The Finals, and I'm planning to get BF6 soon. Any thoughts you can share would be greatly appreciated!

If it were my PC, I’d consider waiting another generation. The 3080 12GB at 1440p holds up pretty well for almost any game right now.
I feel like I’m the only one who looks for bang-for-buck. Upgrading for just a 10-20% boost doesn’t seem worth it to me. I snagged a 3090 Ti for $250, and that was an upgrade!
When I upgraded from a similar tier card, the RX 6800 XT to the 5070 Ti, I noticed improvements, but nothing too dramatic. It’s a decent upgrade!
I moved from a 3080 10GB to the 5070 Ti and it was worth it for me. My 1440p gaming experience improved significantly; I went from maxing out at about 120fps to hitting my monitor's max of 165hz. Plus, it runs cooler and quieter.
Definitely, but if you can, look into the 5080 instead. It might give you better performance.
I think it’s a minimal jump in performance. Consider looking at the 4080, 4080 Super, or even the 5080. But if the 5070 Ti is what you really want, go for it!
The 5070 Ti competes well with the 4080 and its Super variant, so it's a solid option if you're set on it.
I sold my EVGA FTW3 3080 12GB for over $400 and got the 5070 Ti for $750. The extra warranty, better power efficiency, and added performance made the upgrade worthwhile for my needs, especially since I also do some testing that requires more VRAM.
If you're experiencing any performance issues or really care about your FPS in the games you play, then upgrading could be a good move. But if you've been enjoying your gaming without any hitches, especially since JRPGs are generally less taxing on systems, you might want to hold off for now.
Upgrading is definitely a good option, especially since you can still sell your 3080 for a decent price. That could help offset some of the costs.

That's awesome! I'd probably just swap the GPU too. I had some chances to get a whole new AM5 setup, but missed out when RAM prices skyrocketed. Looks like my current build still has life left!
