I'm considering whether upgrading from my 3800X to a 5700X3D would make a significant difference in performance. I currently have a 5070 GPU paired with the 3800X, and I've heard that it might be a bottleneck. I'm also thinking it might be better to wait for AM6 rather than investing heavily in AM5 right now. What do you all think?

Upgrading to the 5700X3D is definitely a great choice! It will allow you to pair with a much better GPU down the line too. Just be cautious of the prices because they've been pretty inflated since it's no longer being produced.
I actually made the jump from a 3900X to the 5700X3D, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Just know that certain titles will benefit more than others, so it may depend on your gaming preferences.
You can expect noticeable improvements in most games, though it all hinges on what price you can snag it for. It's a strong upgrade if the costs work for you.
In terms of performance, the 5700X3D is roughly on par with an R5 7600, so you're looking at decent gains when you switch. Just make sure to find a good deal!
I've got a 5700X3D, and it's an absolute beast! Just a heads-up though, these run hotter than your current 3800X, so I'd suggest getting a solid cooler to keep those temps down during gaming.
