I'm considering upgrading my Ryzen 5 5600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X. I've seen lots of comparisons between the 5600X and the 5800X, but I'm curious if the jump from the non-X version to the 5800X is significant, especially for gaming. I'm happy with my PC, but I've noticed my CPU struggles a bit in games like Battlefield 6. My GPU is a 5070. What do you all think?

Upgrading to the 5800X isn’t really worth it for gaming. There’s only a slight increase in performance, mainly if you’re playing games that use more cores. But if you want to play CPU-intensive games like Battlefield 6, consider tweaking your settings instead. You might get a smoother experience without having to upgrade.

You probably won’t see a significant improvement. Instead of upgrading, consider improving your current setup by tweaking game settings or even waiting for the next generation of CPUs. The market for DDR5 might stabilize soon, and it could open up better options.

Honestly, I wouldn’t bother upgrading. The performance difference from the 5600 to the 5800X isn’t huge, especially since you're already running a capable setup. If you're looking for a real upgrade, you might want to save up for something like the 5700X3D when it's available again – that could give you a better boost with minimal issues.

Not worth it in my opinion. Save your money or wait for better options like the x3D chips. They perform better and are more suited for gaming and heavy multitasking. Plus, if you're aiming for the 5800X, you could just hold out for something more powerful in the future.

I upgraded from a 3600 to a 5600 and barely saw any difference; the real leap came with moving to a 5700X3D later on. If the 5800X goes out of production, you might find some bargains from folks selling their older chips, but right now, I think staying put is best.
