Is it worth upgrading from an R5 5600X to an R7 7800X3D?

I've been considering a PC upgrade since many recent games seem poorly optimized. Currently, I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with an RX 6700 XT. I'm thinking about upgrading the CPU, but I know that if I go for an R7 7800X3D, I'll also need a new motherboard and RAM because of the AM5 platform. So, is making the leap to the R7 7800X3D from the 5600X worth it? Just to note, I live in Finland, and shipping costs from far away are quite high.

Also, consider whether you're currently bottlenecked by your CPU in the games you like to play. If yes, then going for something like the 5700X3D makes sense. But for AAA games at high settings, an upgrade might not yield much improvement.

Also think about the price difference. In Finland, getting a new GPU can be pricey, but if the 5700X3D is available for a good deal, that’s worth it for someone looking to enhance their performance without entirely overhauling their setup.

Keep in mind that in most scenarios, upgrading your GPU instead could give you a bigger boost, especially if you’re playing at higher resolutions. It could be worth holding off on the CPU if you’re not facing any bottleneck issues.

It really depends on what games you play. If you’re into CPU-intensive games, upgrading to the R7 7800X3D would definitely improve performance. But for most GPU-intensive games, you might actually benefit more from upgrading your GPU instead.

If you can find a 5700X3D at a decent price, that might be a good option to consider before jumping to AM5. It offers close to 7600 performance, and you can keep your current motherboard and RAM, which helps save on costs. Then you might think about a GPU upgrade in the future as well.
