I'm considering a GPU upgrade from my current RX 6600 8GB to an RX 9060XT 16GB. Here are my PC specs: I have a GIGABYTE AORUS ELITE AX V2 motherboard, RYZEN 5 5600G CPU, and 600W COOLER MASTER PSU. My RAM is 16GB G.SKILL RIPJAWS and I have a 1TB CRUCIAL P3 NVME SSD along with a 2TB KINGSTON FURY RENEGADE. Given that AMD's new AM6 platform is coming in 2028, I want to find a mid-range upgrade that provides solid performance until I can upgrade my CPU, PSU, motherboard, and RAM to DDR6. Any recommendations or thoughts on this GPU switch?

I definitely think the RX 9060XT would be a good move for you. It's a noticeable upgrade and, from my experience with a 5600G, the RX 6600 can be a bottleneck in more demanding games. Plus, it sounds like you won't need to change your PSU for the upgrade, which is a win.

Yeah, I've been considering the RX 9070XT myself once prices drop, but I also can't swing a new PSU right now. It's a bummer that the 5600G restricts my PCIe 4.0 speeds, but hopefully, an upgrade will come soon!
