Is it Worth Upgrading My CPU or Just Buying a New PC?

Hey everyone! I built my PC back in 2013 and have been using Windows 7 for ages, but I know it's time to upgrade, even though I'm not really a fan of Windows 10 or 11. I'm currently running an Intel i5-4670K CPU, and I'm worried it might not be able to handle the newer operating systems. I'm on a tight budget and mainly looking to upgrade my CPU. But is that enough, or will I need to completely overhaul my system? If a full upgrade is necessary, do you think it's wiser to invest in a new budget PC or laptop instead? Here are my specs: CPU: Intel i5-4670K @ 3.40GHz, RAM: 8GB (2x4GB), Graphics: No dedicated card, Motherboard: ASUS Z87-A, HDD: 1TB WD Blue, and I have a 600W Corsair PSU. Thanks for your insights!

Honestly, at this point, I'd suggest just buying a new system. There are lots of affordable mini PCs on Amazon that perform pretty well. It's probably your best bet instead of trying to upgrade an old setup.

I think a complete new build would serve you better in the long run. Your existing components are really outdated, and upgrading just the CPU might not yield great performance.

What do you mainly use your PC for? If it’s just some browsing and light tasks, you could potentially install Windows 11 on your current hardware using tools like Rufus, which allows installation on unsupported systems. Don't forget, there are also many Linux options that might suit your needs without any cost!

It's mostly for YouTube and occasional downloads. What do you think – should I try Rufus for Windows or just switch to Linux?
