Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX 2060, and I usually game at 1080p. But I'm planning to level up my setup with an RTX 5070 Ti and a new 1440p monitor. I'm debating whether to upgrade to a new Ryzen 7 5700X3D for around €280 or switch to AM5 entirely. I've heard the 5700X3D could allow me to skip directly to AM6 later on. I'm mainly looking at playing BF6 and other FPS games on a high refresh rate monitor (144 Hz and above). What do you think is the best option? Thanks!

That's a tough call at that price. If you're in the EU, you could grab the 7500F for around €135, and it performs just as well in games. It also gives you some budget for a decent motherboard. Just keep in mind you'll need DDR5 RAM. Plus, the 5700X3D used to be around €220 and is getting more expensive, which makes it less appealing to me.

But isn’t skipping AM5 and waiting for AM6 a good idea if you plan to upgrade again soon?

I think going for AM5 might be your best bet. The performance of the 5700X3D, 7500F, and 7600 is pretty similar, so you won't see a huge gain. Plus, you'll future-proof your build a little more going with AM5.

True, but if you're focusing on games like CS2, the 5700X3D really shines in those optimized titles.
