I'm planning to get a Ryzen 5600 CPU and I'm torn about whether I should invest in a "futureproof" motherboard that could support higher models like the Ryzen 5800X or 5900X. I'm considering the B550M Aorus Elite AX or the MSI B550M Pro-VDH, priced at around $124, instead of sticking with my current plan for the B450M DS3H V3 at $79. Given that I can't extend my budget beyond these options, do these motherboards have the capacity to handle those CPUs?

You don't really need to futureproof if you're sticking with AM4. The cheaper boards can still handle the more powerful CPUs, and even your current DS3H should work just fine. Investing in an already phasing-out platform seems pointless.
Honestly, no AM4 motherboard is truly futureproof anymore; that platform is pretty much dead. If you're committed to AM4, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Thanks for the reassurance!
