Is migrating from Windows 10 to Linux a good idea?

I'm currently using Windows 10 but considering a switch back to Linux (I've had a go with Lubuntu before). My main concern is the software I use, like Clipchamp for video editing, and GameMaker Studio 2 along with Libresprite. I'm looking for a non-watermarked video editor that's user-friendly yet not overly complex. Also, I want to make sure I can transfer all my programs and files safely. I haven't upgraded to Windows 11 due to hardware limitations on my Asus Q series laptop, which doesn't meet the requirements. Any advice on migrating to Linux?

You might want to check out Kdenlive as a nice alternative for video editing on Linux. If you're unsure, try installing a Linux distribution on a spare computer or even use a USB boot to test it out first. It's worth experimenting! Let me know how it goes!

I'll give that a shot with a USB boot, thanks!
