Is Mimecast a Good Choice for Email Delivery?

I'm considering using Mimecast for email delivery for a large client. They want to use either SMTP or the Endpoint API, primarily for notification emails from forms and some system-generated emails. Currently, they get a few hundred queries daily. Typically, we would opt for a dedicated service like Mailgun. I'm concerned about a couple of things: Mimecast might flag their emails as spam, especially since they're using their main domain instead of a separate one, which could hurt their sending reputation. What do you all think?

I recommend using a reputable sending service like MailChimp or Klaviyo for their needs instead. Those are built for it!

I totally understand your concerns! I've faced similar issues with services not optimized for transactional emails. Mimecast may struggle with spam filters and sender reputation on their primary domain. I suggest checking out dedicated platforms like Elastic Email; they offer reliable SMTP and a solid API without the headache of needing a separate domain. They've worked great for me in the past for various email types!

If they're mainly sending form replies and notifications to themselves, they could whitelist those emails easily. That might help with deliverability issues!

That makes sense, thanks! They do have some forms that send "Thank you" emails, but I'll suggest removing that customer data or turning those off.
