Hey everyone! I recently used AI to help me select components for a 4K gaming rig, and I'd appreciate a sanity check before I finalize my order. My budget is capped at around $1700.
**Objective:** I want to game at 4K (primarily World of Tanks) on an LG C9 OLED TV using a PS5 controller.
**Space Limitation:** My build needs to fit a desk cubicle with a total height of 49cm (19.3 inches), so I've chosen the Lian Li 205M Mesh case, which is 40cm high, leaving about 9cm (3.5 inches) for top exhaust.
**My Build Includes:**
- **CPU (new):** Ryzen 5 7600 (starting with the stock cooler but may upgrade later)
- **Cooler (new):** THERMALRIGHT Phantom Spirit 120 (based on suggestions)
- **GPU (used):** Palit RTX 4070 Ti Super GameRock
- **RAM (used):** 32GB ADATA XPG Lancer DDR5 6000MHz CL30
- **Motherboard (new):** ASRock B850M Pro RS WiFi
- **PSU (new):** FSP VITA GM 850W (ATX 3.1 / Native 12V-2x6)
- **Case (new):** Lian Li DAN Cases A3 Wood (changed based on recommendations)
- **Storage:** 2 SSDs (Samsung 970/960 EVO NVMe) and a WD Blue HDD from my current setup.
**Questions for You:**
1. Are there any potential clearance issues, like RAM height with the stock cooler or the GPU fitting in the mATX case?
2. Is 9cm (3.5 inches) enough clearance for proper thermals in a semi-enclosed setting?
3. Are there any better value alternatives I could consider for long-term upgrades?
Thanks in advance!

Just a heads-up: this setup might not deliver the true 4K experience you’re hoping for, especially on an OLED TV. I have the 4070 Ti Super, and while it's great for 1440p, for solid 4K gaming, I’d suggest aiming for a 4080 or higher. You can get some 4K gameplay on lower settings, but it could be challenging for demanding titles with this configuration!
I recommend going with the Lian Li A3 wood case since it's one of the best mATX options out there and quite affordable. Also, consider switching to a B650M motherboard—they're cheaper and give you room for future upgrades. With your budget, you can afford the Thermalright Phantom Spirit cooler, which will keep your CPU running quietly and efficiently. Overall, your build looks solid!
OMG that case looks really cool! Thank you for the suggestion; the Lian Li A3-mATX is exactly what I needed for my tight desk space. I've decided to go with the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 based on your advice since I want a top-tier cooler. I'm also sticking with the B850M Pro RS WiFi because the price difference here is minor, and I want PCIe 5.0 for future-proofing. Giving up my old CD drive is tough, but it’s worth it for better airflow!
Have you confirmed all these components fit within your budget? AI sometimes picks older tech that might not be available or isn't the best value. Just double-check to avoid any surprises!
Yep, I've gone through everything and made sure it’s all available within my budget this time. Some initial AI suggestions were a bit wild and outdated, but I've fine-tuned the list based on current store prices. Thanks for looking out!

Thanks for the input! You're right that a 4080 would be better for native 4K, but I’m transitioning from a PS5 and an old i5-7600/GTX 1050 Ti combo at 1080p. This rig will be a huge step up for me. I'm planning on utilizing DLSS to manage performance, and I believe I'll still have a solid gaming experience even if it's not full native 4K.
