I recently ordered a 9070 XT Red Devil graphics card, and I'm wondering if my current power supply unit (PSU) will be adequate for it. Here's a rundown of my build:
- Ryzen 5 7600x3d
- 7800 XT Red Devil
- MAG B650 Tomahawk Wifi motherboard
- 2 TB m.2 SSD, 512 GB m.2 SSD, 512 GB SATA SSD
- 32 GB DDR5 6000 RAM
- 750W be quiet! Pure Power 12 M PSU
The new GPU requires a 3 x 8 pin connection, while my current graphics card doesn't have that specific setup. I've read that there are adapters available, but I also noticed that PowerColor recommends a 900W PSU, which seems excessive. So, is my 750W PSU going to be enough, or should I consider upgrading? If I can stick with my current PSU, what kind of adapter do I need?

Your 750W PSU should be fine for the 9070 XT. You don't need to worry about adapters; just use two PCIe cables, and on one of those, connect two of the ports to meet the 3 x 8 pin requirement.
I think 750W is enough, but just to be safe, having a bit of extra wattage is always a good idea. For a 9070 XT, I usually suggest at least 850W, especially if you plan on any overclocking.
Yeah, power spikes can be an issue with the 9070 XT. I personally recommend going for a 1000W PSU to keep things cool and stable, especially when gaming or if you want to overclock in the future.
Be Quiet! PSUs aren't my first choice for Radeon GPUs due to limited 8-pin connections. If you're set on your 750W unit and have good stability, it might work, but I’d keep an eye on temps.
