I'm making an upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D soon, mainly because the prices for new AM5 builds and 5800X3D are just too high for me right now. Along with that, I'm planning to get a new 2K monitor since my current 1080p VA panel is starting to feel outdated. Currently, I have a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (single tower, single fan) cooling my system. I'm wondering if this cooler is sufficient for my 5700X3D, or should I perhaps add an extra fan to it? Would it be better to invest in an AIO cooler instead?

Your CoolerMaster Hyper 212 should be totally fine for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. It's a solid cooler! If you're looking for better thermal performance down the line, you might consider upgrading to a new air cooler later, but for now, you're good to go!
It mostly comes down to personal preference. Both air and water coolers can perform similarly if chosen wisely. I prefer AIO since it's a bit less dusty.
I recently upgraded to a 5700X3D as well, and my air cooler handled it just fine. No need to upgrade unless you really want to!
Did a similar Rice upgrade recently, and my Corsair AIO has been great. But if you're sticking with a good air cooler like the Hyper 212, you shouldn't have any issues!
Honestly, unless you're pushing the latest Intel chips, you probably don't need an AIO. High-end air coolers like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit or be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 will work perfectly for your setup.
That's good to hear! I’ve heard good things about those coolers.
Yeah, and since the 5700X3D isn't really meant for overclocking, you won't gain much from switching coolers now.
