Is My CPU or Optimization the Issue?

I've been using a Ryzen 9 5900X for about three years now, and I've had constant issues with overheating. To manage this, I created a custom undervolt curve. I initially thought my cooling setup was the problem since I was using a 240mm AIO cooler, but I recently upgraded to a 360mm AIO, and I'm still facing issues. Here's where it gets confusing: when I'm gaming or running heavy tasks, my CPU temperature stays nice and low at around 65°C. However, when I'm just casually browsing the internet, the temperature jumps to about 75°C. I've done some research but can't seem to figure out why this happens. Could my CPU be faulty, or is it just a matter of optimization?

Those temps are within a normal range, especially when your CPU isn't under heavy stress. It could just be the software you're using isn’t quite optimized for your setup.

Is it common for it to jump up like that when using browsers? My fans go crazy when it happens too.

75°C isn't overheating, but it is surprising that it spikes higher under light load. That said, if you're not hitting 95°C, you shouldn't worry too much about it. It's just odd to see temperatures jump like that while browsing.

Yeah, I get that. It’s a bit strange for the temp to spike into the mid-80s just from simple tasks. I notice when that happens, my fans kick into overdrive and then settle back down.

Have you checked your fan and pump settings? Sometimes an AIO pump can adjust speeds, which affects temps. It might also come down to your optimization settings.

Yeah, I have the pump set to run at 100% and fans on a temperature curve.
