Is My CPU Temp Too High for Basic Tasks?

I just built my first PC two days ago, and I'm a total newbie when it comes to tech. I did some research, but I'm still worried about my CPU temperatures. When doing simple activities like watching YouTube or opening apps, my CPU temperature ranges between 40°C and 55°C, fluctuating quite a bit. I'm concerned if these temps are too high, especially since I'm thinking about gaming soon. I already set the CPU fan to full speed in BIOS and adjusted the AIO pump to performance mode using NZXT CAM. Is there anything else I should change to keep my CPU cool? Also, I'm having trouble with my RAM sticks' LED colors using the Armoury Crate app on my ASUS motherboard. Do I need to download something from Corsair to control these effects since my RAM is from them?

Nah, you're good! Your CPU temp ranges are actually on the cool side, especially for idling at 40°C and hitting 55°C. It's really hard to damage a modern CPU from heat, so no need to stress. If you're hitting closer to 80°C under load, then that's a good threshold to watch for, but you're in the clear right now!

You're fine—those temps are great for light usage. If you do want to be extra cautious, try running some benchmarks to see how high the temp goes under load. And 80°C is still pretty acceptable for most CPUs while gaming. Don't sweat it!

Most CPUs, especially Ryzen, are designed to handle quite a bit of heat. If it hit around 80°C while gaming, it's still in a safe range. Just make sure your cooling is adequate, and it should be fine!

Exactly, and keep in mind that they won't just fry from heat—there are built-in protections to throttle performance if it gets too hot.

Those temperatures sound perfectly fine for basic tasks! Most modern CPUs can handle temperatures way higher than what you're seeing. When you start gaming, you might notice it gets a bit warmer, but you shouldn't worry unless it hits 80°C or higher while under stress. Just keep an eye on it and enjoy your PC!
